How to Install Mini Blinds

The installation of mini blinds is very important to increasing your satisfaction level. You will first need to think about whether you want the blinds mounted inside or outside of the window frame. The benefit to inside mounting is that they will look like they were custom-made for the window, but outside mounting makes them easier to use so that you can control how much light you want inside the room.

Measuring the windows is an important step to ensure that the blinds fit the window correctly. If you want to mount your mini blinds inside of the window frame, then you will want to measure the area between the sides of the window frame and then measure top, middle, and bottom of the frame. Then you write down the narrowest of these three measurements to make sure that your blinds will fit snugly into your window. The length from the bottom to the top of the inside of the frame will be measured next. It is important that you have at least 1-inch of flat surface inside of your window frame to attach the brackets to.

If you want to install your mini blinds outside of the window frame, then you will need to measure the width that you want the blinds to cover. If you have less than 1-inch of flat surface inside of the window frame, then you will have to hang the blinds outside of the window frame. You should ensure that the mini blinds will overlap the window by about 1-1/2 inches on the sides of the frame.
